A letter to myself

Not everyone does. I've worked with soldiers on all sides of the political spectrum; I've met some who hated the army and others who wanted to make it a career. I've met geniuses and idiots, but when all is said and done,we do what we do for one another. For friendship. Not for country, not for patriotism, not because we're programmed killing machines, but because of the guy next to you. You fight for your friend, to keep him alive, and he fights for you, and everything about the army is built on this simple premise. "

" Everyday we fight a battle. Every morning when we wake up, we prepare ourselves for that day's war. We don't know what the outcome will be. But, we armed ourselves well enough and we wear our hearts on our shoulders  - we go out to the battle field and give our best. The best war at the end of the day is knowing that you've given your all and expect nothing in return because the best gift is making those who matters felt important and happy. It is a tough war everyday. So, when you wake up in the morning preparing yourself for the war, just go out there and do your best. So when you are lying on your bed at night, you can shut your eyes and tell yourself that you've given all you can for that day and you will do better tomorrow. Tell your heart not to expect anything in return because that's the way you can prepare yourself for the next day war. And, do remember to do better tomorrow. next day. and for the many more days to come. I think it is for as long as you are alive because everyday is about fighting for our loved ones as it keeps us alive."
