I love writing things in point form, be it by drawing a tiny black dot next to it or the conventional 1, 2, 3, etc., I just like writing things in order because in that way I get my thoughts straight.
1. Today was my first day at college for my second semester/final year. It has been a whirlwind journey since my diploma years to where I am right now. Fleeting moments about the times where I was worried about the costs of my studies or how adamant I was to secure a scholarship to study abroad or even how I just wanted to go somewhere far away to study as an escapism or how dissapointed I was when I didn't achieve what I set myself to attain or the silent nights where I have to console myself that everything will turn out to be fine suddenly came gushing to me like a breeze. Fine is such an understatement. I know that I've always been the one seeking for perfection. As much as life experiences have taught me that nothing is perfect and that imperfection is the way that I can perfect myself, sometimes it is hard to swallow rejection and dejection because we are made that way. We certainly can't deny that.
2. Today, I decided to drive to college. I enjoy morning drives because I love the way the sun peeks out from beneath the cloud to greet me. I've always find that sight to be calming and it is at this sort of moments that I take time to think and reflect. As I walked into my first class, all I can see are strange faces. It freaks me out but it's not the first time anyway. Plus, the first semester of my degree was almost similar. Just like before, there are familiar faces but there isn't any 'old' faces that I longed for. I miss my friends! Nevertheless, live has to go on. I've started this journey with a very strong conviction that everything happens for a reason and if this is the way I have to travel, I shall just buckle up and embrace everything that is around and to make the best out of this journey. It certainly isn't easy convincing ourselves especially at times when there isn't anything to look forward to. Perhaps it's time to plan something so that I can motivate myself to work harder.
3. I think somewhere in this blog I've mentioned before that I used to be a very judgmental girl. I hope I've kicked off the habit of judging people for their actions, words or anything of that matter because these days I find it damn annoying that people are back stabbing or bitch talking way too much. I wish people will just keep their judgments to themselves. We can have opinions and it makes a hell lot of difference just in the way we convey our state of mind. I have to admit that sometimes I may be blunt with my comments or opinions as well, but sometimes too much means we've gone over board, over the line. Point blank is we have to know our limits. There's just certain lines that we should not cross.
4. Speaking about being judgmental, I've had several experiences on 'Never judge a book by its cover'. These life experiences have taught me that we need to allow ourselves a chance to know someone. Take time to talk to them only then there will be a chance where we'll get to dissect those little pieces that build the puzzle, and there will be a point where both paths are crossed. We can't simply paint descriptions of people based on their outlook. Yes, first impression matters and I am not denying that fact. However, everyone deserves a chance to be given a chance. It's just like when we apply for job. All we yearn for is a chance to be interviewed, to prove that we are worthy of the potential employer time and effort. If we ourselves are constantly seeking for chances, we should also learn to give people chances to prove themselves worthy of our love, time, companionship, trust and respect. As the one giving, we have to be patient; and as the one receiving, we have to learn to appreciate.
5.
You Are a Black Coffee |
![]() At your worst, you are: grumpy and stressed You drink coffee when: you can get your hands on it Your caffeine addiction level: high |
I've always love coffee. As a matter of fact, I'm addicted to it. I just love the aroma of hot coffee and I love it even more when you know how to make my coffee the way I like it to be. I've always wanted to own one of those Starbucks coffee mugs that I can use it on a daily basis to keep my coffee warm and I can bring it with me wherever I go. Plus, I have so many morning classes and it will certainly come in handy. Sigh! I think I am only giving myself more reasons to buy unnecessary things.
6. Finally, I've made an effort to go back to my exercise classes. Yesterday was my first class after more than a year and today my body aches quite badly. This should be an indication that I am working out the right way and actually that also explains why I didn't attend today's class. HAHAHA. Thank god the time table is flexible. So, starting from this month I shall attend classes 3 times a week.
7. Nothing comes free in life but if I have to sacrifice at the expense of my stands in life, my happiness, my loved one, my true friends and myself for the sake of wealth, power and fame, I think it's absolutely unworthy. There are two sides of stories that often come and go - First, I am constantly reminded that there's no point doing something that I am not happy with even though the material reward seems so lucrative because at the end, I will just hate myself for giving in to those ridiculous demands of others. On another hand, I also have people telling me that I have to be practical and realistic because today's world is the 'dog-eat-dog' world and if I want to survive I've got to do what I am ought to do. Just suck up to everything and I will be fine because I will have enough money to survive. That's for sure I think, but what about other things in life like my future husband and children, my family and my friends. Will I still have them with me? Will they still like me for me? I know it's not easy because we can't simply satisfy every 'Tom, Dick and Harry' but I want to keep those people who matters to me as close to me as possible. I want to remain grounded despite all that I want to achieve. It's definitely not easy but it's achievable. I don't want to end up being the successfularrogantbitchy woman everyone talks about in town.
8. One of my major plans this year is to travel more !!! I hope that I will make an enormous effort to work out my travel plans. That's why for this semester I plan to work part-time while studying. I hope that I can look for a job with flexible working hours that comes with a decent pay. More importantly, I hope that the job makes me happy so that I do not dread going to work. It's tiring having to study and work at the same time but I am pretty sure the end reward will be a fulfilling one. I need to work if I want to travel. I want to travel hence I have to work. -_- Can someone tell me why I've never strike the jackpot? Sigh! Well, it's because I don't buy 4D. Silly me!
9. I have this tendency to have random thoughts out of the blue like when I am peeling the garlic, washing the plates, sweeping the floor (Omg, they all sound so domestic) ..
Till my next random thoughts, here's a verse of 'Let Me Take You There' by Plain White Tees
"I know a place that we can go to
A place where no one knows you
They won't know who we are
I know a place that we can run to
And do those things we want to
They won't know who we are
Let me take you there
I wanna take you there"
A place where no one knows you
They won't know who we are
I know a place that we can run to
And do those things we want to
They won't know who we are
Let me take you there
I wanna take you there"
